Examples of animation - film

The first animated film with synchronized sound was Steam boat willie (1928), up till this point animation had no sound or had sound added on after. animated films began to developed over time. The first animated film with colour was Disney's snow white and the seven Dwarfs. this was the first animated film which had colour all the way through and was made in 1937. 

As time went on animated films became more and more popular and the audience became interested especially the younger audience. Animation is a big part of modern day cinema, which several big animation companies producing several animated films per year. depending on the company a animation can make millions of pounds. examples of this is Disney's toy story serries which had seaquls due to its success.

EXAMPLES OF ANIMATED FILM .......



Toy story was made in 1995 and made  $192 million. The animation was made by computer generated images and cost 30 million dollars to make. this film had 2 more films made after it which was also very successful.

The nightmare before christmas was made in 1993 and was written by Tim burton. it cost 18 million to make and made 50 million at the box office.

Happy feet was made in 2006 and was a american/austrlian production. again this animation was computer generated and was very successful at the box office making 384 million dollars all together.


Beauty and the beast was made in 1991and was made by Walt Disney. the film earned alot of success including a golden globe. it also made 403 million dollars at the box office.

Fantasic Mr Fox was made in 2009, and unlike some of the animated films, this filmused stop motion animation. it cost 40 million to make and made 46 million. this shows that this type of animation is not as popular as other animation techniques.


sherk was made by again Walt Disney and was very successful. it was so successful that it spawned several other films from it. it made 484 million at the box office alone and cost only 40 million to make.


the iron giant was a cartoon film and was different to the computer generated animated films. it was made by Warner Brothers animation in 1999. it cost 70 million to make and made 103 million at the box office.

Wall- e was made by Walt disney and like previous animations it was computer generated. it cost 180 dollars to make and made 521 million at the box office alone.
